[personal] why i do what i do
The last time that Eric and I had professional photos done was our wedding in summer of 2009. Since then we have changed a lot, and our family has changed as well. This past Christmas, we decided to have new family portraits done as our gift to each other, just to document and celebrate this part of our life. We don't know when our family will grow, but it definitely will, and we want to cherish the sweet little family we have now before it changes. In such a fast-paced world, it is easy to let life slip by and not realize how much has happened. It all becomes a blur. I don't want to forget.
We don't know how to say THANK YOU enough to Joshua Gull for these beautiful images. He is an amazing film photographer, and our entire session was shot on film. We even got a Polaroid to take home from the session. To round out the experience, Josh sent us printed proofs of the final images, and we are totally in love with them. We're going to put together a wall collage just with the proofs. We are also in the process of choosing some for large canvas prints for our living room (though I'm not sure we'll be able to compete with the epic collage of Fibi photos we have in the kitchen). This is our favorite way to decorate. Because our family? It's one of a kind. This is the art in our lives. This is who we are, what we love, how we love.
